Jaeger chart

A visual acuity chart used to measure near vision, typically consisting of paragraphs of text with varying font sizes that are used to determine the smallest font size that a person can read comfortably at a standard reading distance.

Juxtapapillary choroiditis

An inflammatory eye condition that affects the choroid (a layer of the eye) near the optic nerve head, characterized by the presence of small, yellowish-white lesions that can cause vision loss if they involve the macula (the central part of the retina).

Juxtascleral depot corticosteroid

A type of treatment for eye inflammation, such as uveitis, in which corticosteroid medication is injected into the space between the sclera (the white part of the eye) and the conjunctiva (the clear membrane covering the sclera) to provide sustained release of the medication.

Juxtapapillary retinal capillary hemangioma

A benign tumor made up of abnormal blood vessels that can occur near the optic nerve head, usually associated with vision loss due to macular edema (swelling of the central part of the retina) or other complications.

Junctional scotoma

A specific type of visual field defect that occurs at the junction of the optic nerve head and the retina, typically associated with optic nerve disorders such as glaucoma or optic nerve head drusen.

Jaundice

Juxtapapillary retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) detachment
