VSY Biotechnology Picks The Stars Of Ophthalmology
With its booth, and scientific and social events, VSY Biotechnology was the center of attention at the 37th Congress of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS), the world’s premier ophthalmology event. VSY Biotechnology organized the Stars of Ophthalmology Award Ceremony, presented the awards to the finalists, and attracted a great deal of attention in Paris on September 14–18, 2019.
VSY Biotechnology presented the traditional Stars of Ophthalmology Awards to the winners at the ESCRS Congress. The judging panel consisting of Roberto Bellucci, M.D.; Johan Blanckaert, M.D.; Prof. Marko Hawlina, M.D., Ph.D., FEBO; and Prof. Sabong Srivannaboon, M.D., the world’s leading ophthalmologists, picked the Stars of Ophthalmology among the ophthalmologists who have published scientific papers in ophthalmology journals and applied for the awards. This year, the jury announced the ophthalmologists that made it to the finals in light of the papers published since January 2018.
Pornpattana Vichitvejpaisal, M.D., the President of the Medical Staff Association of Thailand and Director of the Ophthalmology Department of Chulabhorn Royal Academy; Vito Romano, M.D., PGDip CRS, MHA, Director of the St Paul’s Eye Unit of the Royal Liverpool University Hospital; and Prof. Dr. Choun-Ki Joo, M.D., Ph.D., from the Department of Ophthalmology of the Catholic University of South Korea, were named as the winners.
World’s Top Ophthalmologists Features at VSY Biotechnology Satellite Symposium
VSY Biotechnology held a Satellite Symposium on “AcrivaUD Trinova, the world’s first and only sinusoidal trifocal intraocular lens, September 14, 2019. The world’s leading ophthalmologists participated in the symposium as speakers. Moderated by Dr. Blanckaert, the speaking program included Javier Mendicute del Barrio, M.D., from Spain; Minoru Tomita, M.D., Ph.D., from Japan; Florian Kretz, M.D., FEBO, from Germany; and Erik Mertens, M.D., FEBO, from Belgium.
VSY Hosts Booth Lectures
The VSY Biotechnology booth hosted lectures by leading physicians from around the world. During the congress, physicians shared their experiences using AcrivaUD Trinova and answered questions from ophthalmologists.
