Bausch + Lomb Launches Zenlens CHROMA HOA Scleral Lens in the U.S.

May 15, 2025

Bausch + Lomb has officially launched Zenlens CHROMA HOA in the United States—a custom, wavefront-guided scleral contact lens specifically designed to correct higher-order aberrations (HOA). The lens offers advanced visual clarity for patients with complex corneal irregularities by minimizing symptoms such as halos, glare, and blurring.

A New Option for Advanced Vision Correction

“Zenlens CHROMA HOA is a high-quality, customizable lens that fills a critical gap in scleral lens vision correction, especially for patients with complex corneal irregularities,” said Yang Yang, President of Global Vision Care at Bausch + Lomb. “Eye care professionals in the U.S. now have a new solution for patients that previously had limited options to improve vision quality.”

Technology-Driven Customization and Fit

Zenlens CHROMA HOA leverages Bausch + Lomb’s proprietary SmartCurve and Bi-Elevation technologies to ensure a secure and stable fit. Once optimal lens positioning is achieved, custom HOA correction is applied to address individual optical aberrations and deliver high-definition vision with reduced visual distortions.

Collaboration to Support Clinical Integration

To facilitate clinical adoption, Bausch + Lomb is collaborating with Advance Medical and OVITZ:

       • Advance Medical is contributing its FocalPoints software platform, which enables precise and seamless design and manufacturing of Zenlens CHROMA HOA lenses.

       • OVITZ, recognized for developing the first aberrometry system tailored specifically for HOA correction, is supplying the xwave aberrometer, the latest device used to capture high-resolution wavefront data essential for customized lens design.
