EyeCare Partners Appoints Chris Throckmorton as Chief Executive Officer

EyeCare Partners (ECP) has officially named Chris Throckmorton as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective January 29, 2024. Throckmorton succeeds Ben Breier, who served as interim CEO during the transition period.

Ben Breier, the head of U.S. Private Equity Health and Life at Partners Group, expressed excitement about Throckmorton's appointment, stating, “We are thrilled Chris is joining the organization. Chris’ proven track record and dedication to patients and clinicians made him the ideal candidate to lead the organization into its next phase of growth and success. We look forward to witnessing the positive impact he will have on our continued commitment to enhance vision, advance eye care, and improve lives.”

With over three decades of experience in the healthcare industry, Chris Throckmorton most recently served as the President and CEO of Athletico Physical Therapy, a renowned provider of outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation services. Prior to his tenure at Athletico, he served as the CEO of Pivot Health from 2019, contributing to its emergence as a leading physical therapy provider.

Throckmorton has a rich leadership background, having served as the CEO of IntegraMed Fertility and as the Group President and Chief Operating Officer of Surgery Partners, a leading operator of surgical facilities and ancillary services with more than 180 locations nationwide. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in physical therapy from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and earned his MBA degree in finance from Georgia State University.
