Black Pearl Acquires Ireland-based Maker of Contact Lenses – PolyDev

Black Pearl Vision, the world's only Black-owned and woman-owned contact lens manufacturer, has recently completed the acquisition of PolyDev, an Ireland-based manufacturer specializing in color contact lenses.

This strategic move has allowed Black Pearl Vision to expand its product line, now offering opaque color contact lenses in toric, plano, and spherical parameters. Formerly known as Hydrogel Vision Corp., Black Pearl Vision is renowned for its Extreme H2O product line, which stands out for its unique features that enhance the personalized experience of wearing contact lenses.

PolyDev, the manufacturer of TORIColors, the exclusive molded opaque cosmetic contact lens designed for individuals with astigmatism, will now operate as a subsidiary of Black Pearl Vision. The acquisition will bring PolyDev's cutting-edge 2,500-square-foot facility located in Dunleer, Ireland, under the umbrella of Black Pearl Vision. The deal, anticipated to finalize in June for an undisclosed sum, marks an important milestone for both companies.

Furthermore, Black Pearl Vision has expanded the TORIColors product line by introducing plano and spherical color contact lenses. These monthly disposable lenses will be offered in four captivating colors: Seabreeze Blue, Emerald Green, Golden Amber, and Horizon Grey. With these additions, Black Pearl Vision aims to provide a broader range of options to its customers, catering to different preferences and needs.
