4. ESCRS Cataract Surgery Training Lab: Hands-On Learning and Simulation

The ESCRS Cataract Surgery Training Lab is a cornerstone of the congress, offering participants a unique opportunity to engage with cutting-edge technologies and training methodologies. Located in Hall 6 of the Exhibition, this lab is supported by Alcon, Haag Streit, and HelpMeSee. Although registration was required, visitors are encouraged to explore this interactive space.

Fidelis™ Virtual Reality Cataract Surgical Simulator: Provided by Alcon, this immersive simulator replicates the sights, sounds, and sensations of cataract surgery. Attendees can practice and refine their skills using the latest innovations, including the Centurion™ phacoemulsification system.

HelpMeSee: This nonprofit organization offers high-fidelity virtual reality simulators with tactile feedback. The award-winning simulation technology is complemented by expert-led instruction and comprehensive curriculum materials.

Haag Streit Simulation’s Eyesi Surgical Simulator: This simulator provides a thorough training experience in cataract surgery, helping participants develop essential skills through both simulation and wet lab sessions. The Eyesi simulator is validated for its effectiveness in preparing aspiring surgeons for safe and effective cataract surgery.

5. Charity Concert Evening: OftalmoRock Takes the Stage

ESCRS invites all attendees on Sunday, 8 September 2024, for a lively evening of music with OftalmoRock, a group of ophthalmologists who combine their passion for eye care with their love of music. This charity concert will take place at Sala Apolo between 20:30-00:00.
