Prism Vision Group announced that it has recently acquired Bethlehem Eye Associates in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania; Schefkind Eye Care with two locations in Alexandria, Virginia; and Carabin Eye Care in New Milford, New Jersey.

Financial terms of the deals were not disclosed.

“All three practices are well known in their communities for providing high quality care and we are proud to welcome them to the PRISM family,” said Steven Madreperla, MD, PhD. “Our organization is undergoing substantial growth throughout the Mid-Atlantic region”.

Bethlehem Eye Associates, which joined PRISM in July, specializes in laser vision correction, oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgery, pediatric eye care, cataract surgery, glaucoma, and advanced contact lens fitting, among other things.

It also serves as a primary outpatient training site for St. Luke's University Health Network, which educates the next generation of ophthalmologists.

Eugene M. Saravitz, MD, Robert A. Kitei, MD, Robert C. Weber, MD, Anthony F. Grosso, DO, Michael A. Alterman, DO, Adam R. Rosati, OD, and Scott Goldstein, MD are among the members of the team.

Carabin Eye Care joined PRISM in August and specializes in glaucoma and cataract laser and microsurgical methods, as well as routine eyecare and vision correction for adults and children.

Doctor Gari D. Carabin, a board-certified ophthalmologist and a Diplomate of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, leads the Carabin Eye Care team.

Schefkind Eye Care, which joined PRISM in September, provides routine eye care and specializes in laser vision correction, state-of-the-art cataract surgery, glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy.

The team is led by board-certified ophthalmologists Mark Schefkind, MD, and Edward Chay, MD. The Washingtonian, Vitals, and Northern Virginia Magazine have all acknowledged Dr. Schefkind as a "top doctor" in the Washington, DC, and Virginia markets.
