Optos has announced the launch of Silverstone RGB, a new addition to its Silverstone platform that brings together nine retinal imaging modalities within a single system. The device is designed to support clinicians in the comprehensive assessment and monitoring of retinal conditions by combining widefield imaging, color accuracy, and advanced optical coherence tomography (OCT).
Silverstone RGB combines ultra-widefield imaging with true-to-life color accuracy and swept-source optical coherence tomography (OCT). According to Optos, the system is intended to assist clinicians in capturing and analyzing pathology across all layers of the retina.
The nine integrated modalities include optomap color RGB for high-fidelity color imaging, optomap color RG which is supported by over 3,000 peer-reviewed clinical studies, fluorescein angiography (FA) for vascular evaluation, and indocyanine green angiography (ICG) for imaging of the choroidal circulation.
Additional capabilities include Sensory Red-Free for highlighting nerve fiber layers, Choroidal Imaging for deep retinal visualization, Green Autofluorescence (AF) and Blue Autofluorescence (AF) for identifying metabolic and structural changes in the retina and Swept-Source OCT for high-resolution cross-sectional imaging.
“Silverstone RGB represents a new development for eye care professionals,” said Masayuki Numako, Director & Executive Vice President, Head of Healthcare Business Division, Nikon Europe B.V.
“By combining 200° single-shot ultra-widefield optomap® technology, true-to-life color accuracy, and advanced swept-source OCT, clinicians can evaluate retinal pathology with unparalleled confidence, and efficiency."
The Silverstone RGB system will be introduced at the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida, beginning October 18, 2025. Following the event, the device will be made available in direct markets.
