Keplr Vision Maintains its Growth with the Addition of Over 100 New Practices in 2021

January 04, 2022

Keplr Vision was built from the ground up, beginning in 2005 with the coldstart opening of a single optometry clinic. An additional 20 clinics opened in less than 15 years, followed by sensational growth in partnerships with private practice ODs.

Keplr Vision is guided by the industry’s strongest leadership team. Each member is driven by a common goal – to deliver a collaborative business model that is unmatched in the industry, combining exceptional business support services for our partner doctors, so they can focus on providing quality care for their patients.

Building on its 2020 momentum, Keplr Vision said it achieved a record year of growth in 2021, adding more than 100 new locations to its portfolio of practices across 35 states.

Keplr Vision’s nationwide growth in 2021 was largely concentrated in the western states, according to an announcement.

Overall, Keplr Vision added the new eyecare locations via new partnerships and alliances and closed the year with approximately 300 eyecare locations as part of its support services model.

“More than 600 ODs are now part of Keplr Vision, all focusing on high quality, full-scope optometric care,” said Nick Williams, Keplr Vision's chief executive officer.

“Additionally, our growth has provided countless career opportunities for the more than 3,000 Keplr Vision employees at our home office and partner practices.”

In 2021 in Southern California, Keplr actively added new locations. Dr. Henry Lin and his five Optom-Eyes Vision Care locations across San Diego and Imperial County joined forces with Keplr Vision in May.

In July, Dr. Eli Ben Moshe became a Keplr Vision partner with his Newport Avenue Optometry  practice and Drs. Keith Wan and Jay Mashouf aligned Scripps Poway Eyecare & Optometry with Keplr Vision in August.

“Keplr Vision has built a strong reputation in the OD community, emphasizing the importance of focusing on high-quality, full-scope optometric care,” said Dr. Lin. “It is why I knew my practice would continue to grow and thrive with this partnership.”

Nestled in the heart of the Rocky Mountains in Glenwood Springs and Carbondale, Colo., the second-generation 20/20 Eyecare practices of Dr. Mark Zilm joined Keplr Vision in July.

“The importance of the practices in our community means the world to me, and after much deliberation and discussion with my staff and the Keplr Vision team we knew they were the right home for us.” Dr. Zilm said.

Mostly located in Nevada, multi-location practices such as Clear Vision Eye Centers and Pritchett Eye Care Associates were two of the larger brands included in the alliance.

Complete Eye Care Group’s three-location practice led by Dr. Chris Swanson in Lawton, Okla., aligned with Keplr Vision in September. “We spent a lot of time looking at our options,” Dr. Swanson said of his decision to join Keplr Vision.

“Because the state of Oklahoma offers a broad scope in which our optometrists can practice, we wanted to position ourselves with an organization that values all we have built and will work to uphold it.”

Dr. Joy Simpson of the three Simpson Optical Group locations in Lexington, Ky., followed shortly afterward.

“We have known many other key Keplr Vision Partner ODs for many years, and they had excellent things to say about their experiences in the organization,” she said. “It made the decision to join this outstanding network of ODs a much easier one.”

Dr. Ben Gaddie, Keplr Vision chief medical officer added, “Our continued positive momentum across the country really speaks to our model in this highly competitive space. We are extremely proud of our world-class network of providers and their involvement in the profession.”

Keplr Vision was formed in July 2019 when two portfolio companies of Imperial Capital of Canada—Total ECP and Visionary Eye Partners—merged to operate as a combined entity under the Keplr name.

Through a collaborative partnership model, Keplr Vision offers business support services and supply chain management to private practice ODs, allowing them to focus on patient care.
