Centricity Vision Launches ZEPTOLink IOL System

Centricity Vision unveiled the ZEPTOLink IOL Positioning System during the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) annual meeting on November 3-6 in San Francisco. This innovative platform combines ZEPTO precision pulse capsulotomy technology with various phaco systems to simplify cataract surgery.

Crafted to improve the precision and efficiency of cataract surgery, the ZEPTO IOL Positioning System™ is the only device that can generate an immediate capsulotomy, ensuring exact 360-degree IOL overlap and superior outcomes. ZEPTOLink represents the technology's next evolution and is especially suited for premium IOLs and intricate cases necessitating heightened precision. Additionally, the technology offers substantial cost and time savings through seamless workflow integration, leading to improved efficiency per case.

During a controlled market introduction involving 12 users, more than 500 ZEPTOLink procedures have been conducted in recent months, with surgeons noting increased speed and workflow efficiency.

“The initial response to ZEPTOLink has been extremely positive. Surgeons like having complete control of the procedure via the phaco foot pedal, which is intuitive for them and resulted in a very time-efficient procedure,” Centricity Vision President and CEO Rob Thornhill said in a company news release.

ZEPTOLink harnesses the suction and irrigation capabilities of the phaco system, allowing surgeons full control of the ZEPTO handpiece. This handpiece facilitates applanation, suction, energy delivery, and capsule release via the phaco foot pedal. Key features encompass:
