Bausch + Lomb has officially launched LUMIFY Preservative Free, an over-the-counter (OTC) redness reliever eye drop, in the United States. This product is the first and only preservative-free formulation in the OTC category that contains low-dose brimonidine tartrate 0.025%, designed to relieve redness due to minor eye irritations.
The original LUMIFY eye drops, launched in 2018, gained widespread consumer acclaim for their fast-acting, low-rebound redness relief, receiving over 50,000 five-star reviews. The new preservative-free version aims to deliver the same benefits to patients with sensitive eyes.
“Consumers often say how amazed they are at the difference our original LUMIFY makes to their eyes, with over 50,000 five-star reviews as proof,” said John Ferris, President, Consumer, at Bausch + Lomb.
“LUMIFY Preservative Free brings that same fast-acting formula to those with sensitive eyes — delivering a visibly brighter, whiter look in just 60 seconds.”
The FDA approved LUMIFY Preservative Free in April 2024, making it the only OTC redness reliever that:
• It is preservative-free
• Uses brimonidine tartrate 0.025%
• Targets eye redness selectively, minimizing the risk of rebound redness or diminished efficacy when used as directed
According to Dr. Melissa Toyos, Partner at Toyos Clinic in Nashville, Tennessee:
“LUMIFY delivers consistently proven results for patients experiencing eye redness. With LUMIFY Preservative Free, my patients with eye sensitivities now have an option that’s just as effective as the original LUMIFY redness reliever eye drops.”
LUMIFY Preservative Free is now available in single-use vials and can be purchased at major retailers across the U.S., including Walmart, Target, CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid, Amazon.
The product is available at a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $26.99 and features updated premium packaging.
