Akorn Pharmaceuticals Recalls 70+ Drugs Due to Company Shutdown

Akorn Operating Company LLC, which filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy on February 23, 2023, has ceased all operations and terminated employees of all its domestic US sites. As a result of the closures and discontinuation of the Quality activities of the marketed products, the Akorn Trustee has initiated a voluntary recall of various within-expiry human and animal products.

Due to the discontinuation of the Quality program, the company cannot ensure that the products will meet all intended specifications throughout their labeled shelf life. Therefore, any further distribution or use of any remaining product on the market should cease immediately.
