October 9, 2021 - The second day at the ESCRS Congress has begun with a renewed excitement of gathering in a face-to-face format for the first time since 2019.
Today, the more junior ophthalmologists will have the chance to network, learn tips and tricks in the “Young Ophthalmologists Programme”, which will last throughout the day.
This format provides young ophthalmologists, and especially young surgeons, with a new platform to address challenges or scenarios in clinical practice that are specific to beginners.
Meanwhile, today’s Clinical Research Symposia will be held under the theme of “Advances in Corneal Cross-Linking”, which is currently a very hot topic among ophthalmologists.
The Main Symposium of the day will shed a light on the importance of “Selecting Advanced IOLs” in cataract surgeries, as the list of advanced IOLs is becoming increasingly crowded these days.
The Symposium will be followed by both live and virtual courses (seven in-person and two virtual), the topics of which have not yet been disclosed.
A Video Session called “You Make the Call” will be showcased in the afternoon, and the Annual General Meeting of the ESCRS will take place in the Forum Hall at 2.45 pm. Please refer to the agenda here.
Participants will also have the chance to hear from several companies in the Industry Satellite Symposia while the second of the Main Symposia taking place on Saturday will be about “MIGS: The Evidence-Based Approach”.
Free Paper sessions are also expected to place before the day wraps up with a video “Award Session”, between 6.30 pm and 8 pm.
In the meantime, the Exhibition Hall will be open between 9 am to 6 pm.
