CEO and President of Zeiss, Ludwin Monz, Steps Down from His Role After 11 Years
President and CEO of Carl Zeiss Meditec AG, Dr. Ludwin Monz, has decided to step down from his position at his request, notifying the Supervisory Board that he will not be accepting another term in office. He will be leaving this position by amicable agreement on December 31, 2021.
Ludwin Monz has been President and CEO of Carl Zeiss Meditec AG since March 2010. He has also been a Member of the Management Board of Carl Zeiss Meditec AG since 2007. He was additionally appointed as a Member of the Executive Board of Carl Zeiss AG in January 1, 2014.
The Supervisory Board will be transferring his duties at the ZEISS Medical Technology segment to Dr. Markus Weber effective January 1, 2022. Dr. Weber is currently a member of the Executive Board of Carl Zeiss AG and is responsible for the ZEISS Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology segment.
As of January 1, 2022, Mr. Andreas Pecher will take over Mr. Weber’s role as the new Head of the ZEISS Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology segment and Executive Board member of Carl Zeiss AG. Mr. Pecher is currently Head of the Semiconductor Manufacturing Optics strategic business unit. His successor at SMO will be announced in the coming weeks, the company said in a news release.

Dr. Monz also thanked the Supervisory Board for its trusting collaboration: "I would like to thank the Supervisory Board for its exceptional support over the years. Furthermore, I would also like to wish my successor Dr. Markus Weber all the best going forward."
